Episode 76: Math and People with Zach Abernathy

Winthrop University Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Zach Abernathy talks about the inextricable link between math and humanity, and why he choses to teach and learn about it in Rock Hill, SC. He explains (in language we can all understand) the power of data-analysis and what it can do to better our lives. We also talk about the relationship each of us develops with math over the course of our lives.

Zach has a B.S. in mathematics and a B.S. in physics from Wake Forest, and a Ph.D. in mathematics North Carolina State University. In addition to enjoying life with his Wife and two sons, Zach has been teaching at Winthrop University since 2011.

He’s also tutors as part of the LEAP program, and has mentored several undergraduate research projects.
